From Tuesday 18th to Saturday 22nd May the 5 Days of Innovation Festival will shine a light on how important innovation is to business and our community.
The festival is the brainchild of local entrepreneur and multi-award winning Launceston businessman Darren Alexander, CEO of Autech.
Mr Alexanderâs vision has brought together stakeholders the Launceston City Council, Launceston Chamber of Commerce, University of Tasmania and Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts to collaborate in bringing the festival to light.

25 events have been scheduled for inaugural festival to highlight and celebrate innovation in Northern Tasmania and to inspire others to strive to achieve innovation in their business.
Some of the 5 Days of Innovation events include; Great Debate Luncheon, Social Media Seminar, Cocktail party and networking night, 3 Exclusive Food Trail excursions, Degustation dinner and open day and tours.
âWe have a host of free events on offer exploring some of Northern Tasmaniaâs most innovative companies, such as Pivot Maritime, Veolia, Rex Heathcote furniture, Forestry Tasmania and the Launceston Airportâ Said Mr Alexander

The opening day will be kicked off with the âBusiness over Breakfastâ sold out event, with the Premier of Tasmania David Bartlett opening the 2010 festival, and featuring guest speakers David Maynard from AMC and Jarrod Ritchie of TPI Enterprises and Chair of the Festival Darren Alexander.
