The Australian Innovation Festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2011.
The Australian Innovation Festival was established in 2002 by Adair Communications to support and promote the best of Australian innovation and entrepreneurship. Since its conception the Australian Innovation Festival has increased in size and range with virtually every major town and city throughout Australia included; along with a global spread of supporting international business and educational councils and associations. The Festival is a not-for-profit initiative which aims to inspire a culture of innovation in all Australians, by reinforcing our rich, innovative history and an entrepreneurial spirit, which is comparable to the best in the world.

This 2011 Festival will also celebrate its 10th anniversary by again focusing on the 4Cs of Innovation - Creativity, Connections, Collaboration and Commercialisation. These key elements are behind every major Australian innovative or entrepreneurial endeavour.

For 2011, under the Festival theme of Business I Innovation I Growth we will use our media connections and resources to emphasise that innovation is the cornerstone and primary catalyst in building opportunities for Australian business enterprises. A primary focus is to make this Festival bigger than ever and engage new groups to take advantage of the many activities on offer during the period of 26th April to the end of May 2011.
This year’s Festival theme “Business Innovation and Growth” highlights the importance of innovation during this period of regeneration from last year’s global economic uncertainty. Many people equate the term “innovation” with having a long term R&D perspective, but of limited relevance to immediate business needs. More than ever, organisations need to “innovate” to meet the challenge of increased competition and ever changing consumer and market needs.

Last year, the 2010 Australian Innovation Festival showcased the best of Australian Innovation with over 600 events and 370,000 attendees in every State and Territory. This year the Festival Secretariat will offer enhanced benefits for participants and event organisers. We are calling for expressions of interest from organisations interested in participating with Australia’s largest celebration of creativity and enterprise development.
